Terms of Service
Last updated: pre-launch draft — not yet finalized.
1. Agreement to these terms
By creating an account or using Static Campus (“the Service”), operated by Static GPU LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“we”, “us”), you agree to these Terms of Service.
2. The service
Static Campus provides on-demand cloud PCs (VMs) built for coursework, billed per second based on the resources you configure. VMs run on our own monitored infrastructure — we're not a reseller of third-party cloud capacity.
3. Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live), provide accurate account information, and keep your credentials confidential. You're responsible for all activity under your account. Let us know immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Billing & payment
Charges are calculated from the live rate card at the time of use and billed by the second via Stripe. Some features may be temporarily disabled platform-wide — this will always be reflected in the dashboard, not hidden. Fees already incurred for compute time are non-refundable.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service for anything illegal, harmful, or abusive — see our Acceptable Use Policy for the full list of prohibited activity. Violating it is grounds for suspension or termination.
6. Your content & data
You own your coursework and whatever you store on your VM. We don't access the contents of a running VM except with your consent, to provide support you've requested, or where necessary to investigate abuse or comply with law. When you delete a VM, its disk is wiped immediately and unrecoverably — by us or anyone else, so keep coursework backed up elsewhere too.
7. Service availability
We work to keep the Service reliable, but it's provided without an uptime guarantee or formal SLA at this time, and the platform is in an active build-out phase. Check the status page for current operational status.
8. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or for non-payment, with notice where practical — immediately, without notice, for severe or illegal violations. You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time; fees already incurred are not refunded.
9. Intellectual property
The Static Campus name, site, dashboard, and underlying software are our property. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of that to you, and nothing transfers ownership of your own content to us.
10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law, or from content you run or store on your VM.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date; continued use after a change means you accept the update.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
