Security & reliability
You're trusting us with your coursework and your payment information — here is exactly how that trust is earned and maintained, in plain language.
Network isolation
Every VM is placed on its own dedicated VLAN through Proxmox SDN. Students cannot see, scan, or reach each other's machines — each VM is as isolated as if it were on a separate physical network.
Encryption
All traffic between your browser and your VM (console access, RDP tunnel, and the dashboard) is encrypted with TLS. Virtual disks are stored on encrypted-at-rest storage on the host.
Access control
Our own infrastructure access uses a dedicated, narrowly-scoped Proxmox API token — never the root account — and every administrative action is written to an audit log. Support staff cannot log into your VM without your explicit request.
Payments
All billing is handled by Stripe. Static Campus never stores your card number — Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified, the highest level of certification in the payments industry.
Reliability
Proxmox nodes run in a clustered configuration with automated health checks every five minutes. If a node goes degraded, new VMs are automatically routed to healthy capacity, and we page on-call staff immediately.
Backups & data control
You control your own VM lifecycle. When you delete a VM, its disk is securely wiped and cannot be recovered — by us or anyone else. We recommend keeping coursework backed up to your school's cloud storage as well.
Account security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plaintext. Optional two-factor authentication is available from account settings. Suspicious logins trigger an email alert.
Found a security issue?
We take reports seriously and respond quickly. Email security@staticcampus.example — please don't test isolation boundaries against other students' live VMs.
